GESTALT THERAPY is a psychotherapy. Gestalt means whole in German. Gestalt therapy came about in the 1950’s as part of the Human Potential Movement. It is an accessible, practical psychotherapy that encourages self-acceptance and self-support.
At its core is an interest in how, not why, we choose to limit our awareness.
By exploring the emotions, feelings and perceptions of the present moment, Gestalt therapy heightens awareness to behaviour patterns. This is the first step in therapeutic change.
Those who practice Gestalt therapy develop an awareness of the excitement and immediacy of being fully present in the moment, which fosters an ability to respond authentically.
This leads people to be open to more appropriate choices previously unconsidered, rather than continuing with habitual behaviour.
The result is an evolution towards living a more meaningful and authentic life.
EXPRESSIVE ARTS THERAPY
Clients without creative experience are constantly amazed at how much they enjoy expressing themselves with colour and texture.
Most participants are pleasantly surprised by the depth and relevance of what they learn from their creations.
Creative self-expression comes from your spirit, your soul and during these sessions your TRUE SELF gets a chance to talk to you, revealing valuable insight and perspective on what’s really going on inside.
When you are creatively expressive, your head takes a vacation and your heart has a voice. It’s to that voice we give our undivided attention.
Laila Ghattas expertly helps you decipher the message you are sending yourself.
You can literally see what’s going on inside your emotional life as we explore your creations together as a group. Accelerated awareness and integration follow.
Reiki, specifically the Usui System of Natural Healing, is a Japanese form of hands on healing. Reiki means Universal Life Force.
Clients lie fully clothed on a massage table. They gently receive universally available healing energy which is accessed from the crown of the head and transferred through the hands of the practitioner. Hands are gently and intuitively placed in turn on the torso and head.
Reiki is body work that promotes awareness of how and where emotions are stored in the body.
Through heightened awareness and release of these old emotions, you are left with more space to incorporate healing ways and choices in your life and perspective.
